The '56 J.M. Cadet Band Plays "Barnum and Bailey's Favorite"
HOW IT BEGAN.....
In 1946, this poster announced the formation of the John Marshall Cadet Alumni Association. The primary objective was to raise the funds necessary to furnish overcoats for all the Richmond High School Cadet Corps. In the Cadet Alumni Annual Report of 1956 shown below, there is a summary of the early years of the Association. Though much has changed, some things do remain the same.

It should be noted that many of the Board Members represented here were responsible for many of the past Cadet Alumni accomplishments. Those accomplishments include the establishment of the Hollywood Cemetery Memorial to the 76 fallen former John Marshall Cadets of WW1, WW2, Korea, and Vietnam; the Cadet Program and Exhibit at the Virginia Historical Society; the Establishment of the Cadet Statue on the grounds of the John Marshall House; and numerous Memorial Day and Veterans Day Observances at Hollywood Cemetery.
